Take Action artwork

The story behind this piece

Take Action is a black-and-white piece built like a quiet push forward and a love letter at the same time. White flowers rise up the canvas like embroidery - growth you can see - set against a black-on-black background that asks you to slow down and look closer.

Behind the florals is a dense layer of words: a lifetime of advice gathered from journals, podcasts, the internet, social media, and real life. It was written first for my children - the lessons I wanted them to have clearly, not eventually. But it is also for all children, for the younger version of me, and for anyone trying to grow into a better life with the tools they have.

This piece is about growth that does not wait for perfect conditions. It is about showing up for yourself when you are tired, inconsistent, distracted, hurt, or unsure. It is about taking responsibility for your life without hating yourself for being human. The flowers are the proof: progress is possible even in a dark field.

Take Action is not just a title - it is the point. Say the thing. Do the hard thing. Keep the promise to yourself. Start again when you slip. Growth is not a moment. It is a practice.
